Klein’s 1986AR series steel contoured climbers are constructed of rugged steel alloy. The contoured shank is a comfort feature to reduce pressure points or chafing to your ankle bone when climbing. The shank is shaped to create a slight bow away from your ankle while the upper shank rests securely on your leg. The shank is adjustable in length from 15” to 19” in 1/4” increments.
The 1986AR features an offset stirrup. This positions the stirrup closer to the center of the foot by offsetting the stirrup forward of the shank. Ankle straps are attached by split ring on the stirrup.
Klein’s 1986AR steel climbers come with 1-9/16” set-screw replaceable gaffs designed to penetrate the hardest salt-treated and CCA poles.
Bottom and top straps and pads must be ordered separately.
Warning: Climbers are to be purchased and used by trained personnel only.
